Birth Trauma Recovery

Thinking positively about your birth experience

Being a parent can always be challenging, but after the therapy everything is easier to deal with – when there is peace and calm, where there may once have been turmoil and panic.

For many, giving birth can be traumatic, leaving them filled with negative emotions.

Even if those feelings stem from a long time ago, Rewind Therapy can help neutralise those thoughts, freeing you to think positively about your child’s birth, and enjoy parenthood to the full.

This is a 3-step process that will help lift feelings of post-traumatic stress. Often two or three sessions are needed to activate your own natural healing ability through deep relaxation, and guided use of your memory and imagination. Freeing a person from these symptoms can help them to create an opportunity to think positively about their birth experience – which will still be remembered, but no longer provoke anxiety.

Often two sessions is enough, sometimes more session are needed. The sessions are approximately an hour long and each session costs £30. These sessions are offered in the evening when your baby/child is sleeping, however, can also arrange daytime sessions, all via Zoom.

Thank you so much again for the two sessions and helping me to feel so much better about the birth.

I think it will have a hugely positive impact on my life – it’s a really great thing that you do.

Just wanted to thank you so much again for giving up your own time to offer me the rewind/birth recovery sessions recently.

It really helped me to process my first birth, and realise that the memory/the fear that I have carried and  attached to the birth of my first baby was actually a very short period of what was otherwise a calm and natural labour. It really helped to desensitise the memory.

Having found the first week of the calm and confident hypnobirthing course very emotionally difficult (just because it triggered lots of emotion), your sessions allowed me to continue with the hypnobirthing course in a positive way and now I feel much more optimistic about a shorter, calmer birth with my second, and am just looking forward to meeting my baby!

If I was to write my sons birth on paper it would pretty much be the ideal birth.

The hypnobirthing techniques we had been taught worked brilliantly at home helping me to stay calm and relaxed and my husband played his role amazingly. I was 9cm dilated by the time we went to the hospital and gave birth on just gas and air.

However, mentally I really struggled to recover from the birth, having it replay on my mind causing me anxiety and fear- we’d always said we wanted more than one child but the thought terrified me. I reached out to Wendy about the birth trauma sessions she offered. I was sceptical at first but what did I have to lose? And I am so glad I did, the first session felt intense and emotional but Wendy was able to answer questions I had about the birth which helped with the processing. After this first session when my mind would filter back to the birth, my perspective had already changed. I could feel my body relaxing using the breathing technique we’d used in the session and replaying it in a calmer way where I could focus on the positives. I now feel that I can look back at my sons birth and know how incredible I did and am in awe of what I achieved. I cannot thank Wendy enough and would highly recommend the sessions to anyone who feels any negativity towards their birth.
